After losing 70lbs I have flat-lined for 3 months

I lost 70lbs from Dec 12 to Aug 13 at a rate of 8lbs per month
Still losing weight but very slowly now 2 lbs a month instead
My BMI is now 30.7 (down from 39)
I am taking in more calories but also burning many more (burning 3500+ per day)
I have increased my activity by 30-40% for the last couple months (now averaging 13000 Fitbit steps)

Why have I flat-lined? and how can I restart the loss, I still have 35 lbs to go?

IN MY OPINION (so please no one jump my *kitten*), the less you have to lose, the slower it goes.

Your diary is private so can't give specific info---

Generally you burn more calories the more you weigh for the same exercise (i.e at 125 lbs I burn about 100 calories to jog a slow mile, but at 95 kilos you will burn much more), so as you lose weight your calorie burns get smaller and smaller.

Your basic caloric requirements drop as you lose weight---it takes more calories to maintain at 400 lbs than at 125 lbs. So, as a reward for losing weight, I get to eat LESS for the same baseline activity!

You may be burning fewer calories than you think if you rely on MFP, it tends to overestimate calories burned. Hence your deficit may be smaller than you think or even 0. If you have a heart rate monitor you may not have updated the computer with your current weight. Make sure you do this every 5-10 lbs (or 2-4 kilos) so you get accurate burns for your hard work.

Make sure that you eat enough protein, if you were in too high of a deficit, your body may have lost muscle mass, and therefore you have less tissue that burns calories.

    good luck :)
