OK, has anyone on here ever had to take a power of attorney over a family member? Where do I start?

Being a retired military wife I always had a general power of attorney all the time to take care of any of my husband's personal business, if needed, while he was gone. We always got the forms and notarization at the legal office. I think for civilians you would have to go to an attorney. There are different types of power of attorneys. I hope this helps.

yep, my mom had to do it for my uncle a few years back. Most family lawyers can help you with that, or at least refer you to someone who can.

Thank you all, My mother is under 60, pushing though, and she has lost all ability to live among the land of the living.

It's like she has given up on life and I have to demand she eat, shower and not sleep all day.

But here is the clencher, it is a act!!!!

I have taken over her properties and she is signing over a quit claims deed now and man I tell ya, when did I become a care giver???

    Lots of good wishes please!!!!
