Left my HRM strap outside....in the rain....

I know, I know.
I'm not the brightest crayon.
Yesterday, I left my hrm chest strap on the clothesline to dry after I had rinsed it. Then, a few hours later, it rained and I TOTALLY forgot that I left it outside until I saw it this morning. It's dry now, but I can't imagine how filthy it must be. Will it be okay if I just use dishwasher soap and run it under the sink?
Thanks in advance!

Why would it be filthy hanging on the clothesline in the rain?0

How does rain make it filthy? Where do you live? Just rinse it under the tap and slap it back on.0
