Body Detox/Clease? Is it right for me?

I'm considering trying a detox that consists of having fruit/veggie smoothies for 3 days (made with other things such as flax seeds and coconut or almond milk... but mainly consisting of fruits/veggies). I planned to add protein powder to the smoothies as well (it just doesn't make sense to go 3 days without protein). I am wondering if this is something that could help me determine what might be causing certain problems such as daily headaches. If I eliminate things like added sugar, coffee, processed foods, wheat, etc for a few days, could this be beneficial? I would add each thing back to my diet one at a time to determine how it affects my body. I should be clear that I am not looking to use this as a way to lose weight. I am looking for a tool to help me rid my body of things that are causing health problems and cravings.
Any input or experience would be greatly appreciated.

You could get an allergy and intolerance test done.

Do you eat a lot of cheese and/or chocolate?

If you suffer headaches and are a coffee drinker, you will get more severe headaches for those 3 days. it takes longer than that to adjust ( can not remember how long, if there was a coffee diet I would be on it :drinker: ).
I am a migraine sufferer that hates meds, I just learned over the years what triggers them for me...like soda..yuck!
The best way to figure it out is since you already keep a food diary, keep a headache diary too with what activity you were doing at onset, how severe and other symptoms. The you can try eliminating what seems to be your triggers, and adjust from there. Also the allergy test is a great idea.

    What is an intolerance test?
and no, I don't eat a lot of cheese or chocolate. But I do get more sugar than I need throughout the day (something I have gotten better at limiting, but can't seem to break through completely).

As for coffee, I only drink one cup a day! I'm usually okay if I go without it. I tend to wake up with headaches that last throughout the day. I can't pin point anything specific in my eating habits that could be triggering it, but the doctor has no idea what's causing them.

Not Needed. You need Willpower, cleanse your house of all the crap you crave and stop buying it.. cleanse complete.

I think it could be beneficial for easing the headaches, but unless you add the suspect foods back one at a time, I don't see how you would tell which was the cause.

Typically, foods are eliminated for a week or two, then added back. If the symptoms go away and then return, it's likely the food is the cause. But you have to do this one food at a time.

Unless you're undergoing dialysis (and actually cleansing/ filtering impurities out of your blood), I scoff at the idea of a "cleanse" doing much for you, or for anyone else.
