List your top 5 ways to stay on track during the holidays

Options
With the holiday season approaching, this means that it can impact your program in not such a postive way. I am going to list my top five ways to stay on track duriing this time.
1. Have a filling breakfast; I love oatmeal with fresh cut apples and cinnamon.
2. Drink water.
3. Make a list of reasons as to why you started this journey.
4. Combine cardio and weights. More muscle means that you will burn more calories while resting.
5. Try not and stress over a few bad meals or snacks; make it up at the next meal.

    1. Restrict the feasting to Christmas Eve, Christmas Day Breakfast and New Years Eve
    2. Take the dog for a walk 2-3 times a day.
    3. Weather permitting - go for runs.
    4. Skip breakfast if I know there will be something VERY yummy later.
    5. Restrict gingerbread and biscuits to minimum.

This was going to be my answer too. Nothing changes during the holidays except the walk to the gym requires more clothes.

I enjoy baking and this is the season to do so, but I'm going to baking for others and not for myself so I don't have any yummy temptations around.

lol...thanks for making me laugh this morning..

But I plan to enjoy a serving of whatever I want at Thanksgiving dinner than STOP and get back on track with my regular workouts and counting calories. One meal at Thanksgiving wont make you fat..its what you do the other 364 days.

    1. Only go off my normal diet on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day
    2. Eat all healthy during the meals so I can splurge for a small slice of my favorite pie (pumpkin)
    3. Do a little extra cardio and weather permitting a walk after my meals
    4. Drink plenty of water so i am full when it comes to meal time
    5. Making sure I pace myself while eating (sometimes with all the good food I tend to jump quick to seconds)

I'm going to try and stick with what I do every other day.

With that said, I am not going to beat myself up if I get a little of track one or two days.

I keep saying no eating breakfast ... I would to the OPPOSITE! I would have a balanced meal in the morning so when I get to the good stuff in the evenings I dont go CRAZY like i dont have any sense!

I am going to TASTE everything! Just a taste. A little of this, a little of that, all on one plate then DONE. That's all i really need!
