Hi everybody, I am new!

I am looking for some advice on how I can loose inches around my hips. I've always been heavy around the bottom and lto oose weight down there proving to be very difficult. I've started my new healthy lifestyle just over a month ago. Since then I've lost 14 pounds and only 1 inch around my bum. I eat healthily and exercise nearly every day. I do different type of activities - pilates, aerobics, aqua-aerobics, long walks, Wii Fit, fit ball, dumbbells, crunches, sit-ups and so on. I massage my rear after a show and put some cream on, but still not much of a result so far.((( I don't know what else I can do to make my bum and hips smaller and more toned. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

I know that you can not "spot reduce" which is really unfortunate! When I started my weight loss I started losing from top and bottom and nothing in the middle. My face and neck slimmed, I lost ankle weight and my arms started to tone, but my waist, bum and thighs stayed the same. I am now 3 months into my journey and 30 pounds gone and I am finally seeing the inches start to move off my hips. It will come off when it is ready to and not before. Good luck, keep up the variety of exercises and the cardio will get the fat moving!
  • Congrats on the weight loss! I think even if you get to your goal weight, you may still have a "heavy bottom" because the fat cells are already there and it's hard for your body to just lose in specific area only. Have you ever thought about getting SmartLipo done, or something similar to that? After three kids, I worked hard on getting my weight down to pre-pregnancy range. I think I generally liked how I looked, but my mid section's always a problem even though the rest of me look decent. So a couple months ago I went in for SmartLipo. It's not pain-free like they advertise! But now I have the abs I want which now matches the rest of my body (it's still not perfect, and still some loose skin, but it's 95% better than what I had before). It's now very proportional. I don't think there's any amount of diet or exercise that would've ever worked to get rid of that mid section "muffin top" for me. So if that's an option for you, I'd highly recommend getting a free consultation with a reputable doctor in your area.
