Staying On Track After Wisdom Teeth Surgery?

Yeah, people are always saying things like "oh what a perfect excuse to eat all the ice cream you want!"

But I don't want to do that! I want to keep on my road to weight loss/fitness.
I'm terrified that all this soft foods/liquids is going to cause some pretty hefty weight loss for ten days, but then I'll end up gaining it all back.. Or worse, I'll end up relapsing into Anorexia because I don't want to gain all the weight back. That would end up being soo many steps backwards after coming so far..

How can I eat healthy during this recovery? Can I still do some exercises?

    Hi

I wish you a speedy recovery.

as far as exercise is concerned, you better check with your dentist.

    My suggestions for food:

Focus on protein. You can mix in a blender: whey protein, almond milk and a banana with one teaspoon of peanut butter.

Try frozen yogurt, instead of ice cream.

and pureed your favorite foods, whatever they are

You don't need to eat soft food for 10 days and lots of healthy foods are soft if you do want to do that. Just track your calories the same as you would any other time.

I'm in the same situation because I had my teeth taken out on Friday. You can check out my diary for some ideas. For the first few days, I wasn't getting enough protein, so I ate more than I needed to. Have lots of scrambled eggs, scrambled tofu, Greek yogurt, peanut butter, and protein smoothies. Track everything so you don't gain or lose too much weight and try to stick to your macros.

My sister and I both got horribly sick from our wisdom teeth surgery (vomitting, etc), but even then, neither of us were off solids for more than a few days. Neither of my brothers got sick and were eating normal food the next day. I think I wasn't allowed to work out for a week afterwards, but check with your dentist. It's a bit obnoxious, but remember, you're having surgery and you need the extra energy to heal.

Count your calories and if you need to stick with liquids and soft foods, I really recommend soups, especially broth based.

My experience was had 4 wisdom teeth pulled on Friday morning and had Soup and Pudding Friday evening and on Saturday but come Sunday I was pretty much back to eating my regular food..... I wasn't crunching Almonds that first week lol but I was eating pretty much everything else I normally would eat...... Unless I just healed faster than most, but I have also had 6 of my bottom teeth pulled and wear a partial now and same experience as the wisdom teeth...... Best of Luck.......

Yup. When I had mine out, I just did a lot of soup, soft cooked veggies, and fish. Fish is soft and great for you.
