Strength Training At Home?

I currently have an exercise bike for cardio that I try to use daily but I am terribly allergic to cinnamon and with it being November and those annoying cinnamon pine cones everywhere, my asthma is terrible so I can't push cardio that hard right now. After reading posts from others, I would like to try strength training. I don't currently go to a gym nor do I plan to. I have very little free time so the work outs I do get are sporadic here and there and only last about 30 minutes or so. The extra 30 minutes it would take me to get to and from the gym would mean I had about 5 minutes to work out. Plus, I really don't like working out in front of other people. What can I do at home with little to no investments in fancy machines as far as strength training goes? Please forgive my ignorance, I litterally know nothing about strength training.

Check out youtube. My personal favorite youtube fitness guru is Cassey Ho from Blogilates. She did a great series on LiveStrongWoman, and also has her own Blogilates channel. She doesn't normally use equipment, includes lots of stretching and modifications, and is very perky. She has everything from strength, stretching, cardio, HIIT, food, EVERYTHING. Tone It Up, Sarah Fit, Lionsgate BeFit, and LiveStrongWoman (which has a great variety of people who have their own channels, so you can really browse who you like) are all great places to look. Feel better! Allergies suck!0

Your looking for strength training my suggestions.
1. Supreme 90 it about 30 minutes it has strength as well as lite cardio.
2. Chalean extreme but I believe that is 45 minutes.
3. T25 which is only 25 minutes but again that is cardio
4. 10 minute trainer
5. P90x but that is 60 minutes.
I think the safe bet would be supreme 90 or Chalean extreme.0 -
Have a look at "You Are Your Own Gym" and "Body By You" - two very good manuals covering the bodyweight only approach to strength training. No weights needed.
You'll get plenty of weight training tips so I thought I would offer the bodyweight approach as an alternative or complimentary. Both are great.0 -
Thanks for all the tips. I will definitely look into all of these. Thanks again!0
