Are the dishes made up of many ingredients? If so, you could use Google. I would go to www.google.com, type in "What are the calories in XXX?" and see what it says for one ingredient. I have found many calories that way, from food to exercise. Several websites always come up and at least one has the answer.
The MFP database is made up by the members. Once you find the calories for your food, you can add them to the database. It will be a pain at first, but this is one way to do it.

try caloriecount.com
you can put in the recipes and amount and it will calculate the calories for you.. I use it often for our traditional foods or when I am cooking0
