Good News & Bad News

The good news: I'm below 200 pounds for the first time since 2006 or so. This is awesome and I'm incredibly proud of myself. 16 more pounds and I'll be where I was when I got married.

The bad: I was diagnosed with gallstones over the weekend and they think I'm going to have to have an operation. Honestly, this freaks me out -- not so much the surgery itself, but the logistics around work and kids and stuff. And between being freaked out and Halloween candy being all over the place, I'm having a hard time making healthy choices. This is in spite of the fact I *know* the gallbladder thing means I'm supposed to try to avoid fatty foods.

Has anybody had their gallbladder out? What was it like? How soon were you back to normal? Also, any thoughts about how to stay on a diet when you're under extra stress?
