Hair & weight...thoughts please!

I have always thought I looked "less fat" with longer hair. But I've seen some really cute shorter styles I would love to try. I'm scared though that short hair will make me look frumpy. Any thoughts?

You would look good either way cause you're beautiful, but I think I like long hair better on you! Maybe get some shorter layers put in?0

Short hair on women just radiates confidence! And that is beautiful
If you're worried, cut it in stages, a little bit at a time until you get to a style you really love. But don't worry too much, it'll grow back if you hate it! And you can always hide it under a hat during winter (haha)0 -
I'm bald I must look hopelessly fat.0

Once I got to a certain weight I stopped cutting my hair short. It got to the point where it didn't look good on me anymore because of how big my face got. This was my opinion only - but I was no longer comfy and self confident with short hair anymore. Once I lost a certain amount I got it cut short again and love it!0

Short hair is best and most stylish when its got a great shape! Go to a good hair stylist and make sure its someone who knows how to do great cuts and who can give you advice based on your face shape, etc..
The most awesome thing about hair is that it always grows back! I say go for it! :drinker:0 -
I really think it has less to do with weight or size and more to do with your personal style. Face structure, features, the clothes you wear, and so on.
I have been a size 3X with short hair and still think it looked better on me than long (which I also had at that size).
For me about 40% of my decision to keep my hair short is the easy factor, I can be active w/o worries. But 60% of it is the fact that I get compliments all the time when my hair is short and never do when it's longer. I feel like a frump with long hair, opposite of most people. If I wear a skirt/dress when my hair is long I feel like I must look like Michelle Duggar, even though I know I do not. But feeling like that affects my confidence in a bad way. Or if I have long hair, if I put on a lot of accessories I feel like I look as though I'm trying too hard... With short hair I feel like skirts/dresses (which I wear a LOT) & accessories look more stylish on me (just me, not talking about others!)
I know other people who look 100X better with long hair!0 -
You ARE gorgeous, so do whatever makes you FEEL gorgeous!0

I always thought that too, but if we want to be realistic, hair and clothes don't really hide anybody's weight. Have fun looking for different styles online or in magazines and imagine what they'll look like on you. Look for nice styles on people with the same face shape as yours (heart shaped, oval, square, etc.). Good grooming is more important that length too.0

Go try on wigs to see what you will look like in a shorter style. Try everything from short and sassy, to short and classy. It's easier to see it than imagin it.0

I've had both long and short hair fat... I agree it is all about the cut. Make sure the stylist knows how to cut short cuts and will recommend a style that will look good on you. I love my short hair now, but it used to be to the middle of my back and people said it looked frumpy then, though some loved it? Do for you, screw everyone else. =]0

I love my hair long, no matter what I look like to others. I love to play with my hair, so there's no way I'm cutting these locks. Nuh uh. If others don't like my long hair, too bad :P
