Insanity and Pain.

This worries me a lot, Tomorrow will be my 4th day of insanity and I only feel the burn and pain when I´m doing the workout, but other than that I don´t feel pain in my body except for the legs.

I'm not fit, as a matter of fact my fit test was beyond horrible, I haven´t exercise for the last 8 years, I push myself when doing the exercise not like ok lets push a bit, no, I push really hard, I can feel the burn and a lot of pain and that´s it.

I'm trying to figure this out, this is my routine when I wake up every morning since I began yoga.

1.- Wake up and do some yoga positions to stretch my body.
2.- From 12 to 1 I do Insanity and 3 times a week I do yoga.
3.- After each work out I take little sips of water and when I cool down completely I drink a lot of water and eat a banana and a medium-small piece of pineapple.
4.- Repeat step one before i go to bed.

All I want to do with Insanity is to tone my body, and get rid of the small Koala hanging on my belly..

This worries me because I read that people at the beginning is in pain, but I´m not... Any idea?

Don't be worried! Not everyone feels the same amount of pain. A lot of it has to do with how you're built and how intense you do each exercise. When I first began Insanity I put in a lot of effort, but by the time I was a few weeks in I was putting even more effort in to the point that the the high intensity workout was more like extreme intensity. And besides, I have knee, ankle, and back problems, so obviously something like Insanity would exacerbate those. A lot of people have minor back problems etc. that Insanity will bother, so just be glad your body's able to endure the workout! Also, people also complain of pain when they do the moves too hastily with poor form. So if you're not experiencing pain, to me it sounds like you're doing things with nice form, and you don't have any existing physiological problems. That's all. Nothing to worry about.

So you're saying that you're not in enough pain, but you want to be? Am I getting that right? Maybe try spraying pepper spray in your eyes, that should give you enough pain.

(Pain and soreness while/after working out has nothing to do with your performance or results of a particular exercise routine).
  • You are probably not feeling sore because of the yoga. Yoga deals with a lot of stretching and that releases chemicals in the body to help relieve the soreness. Doing all that yoga is fantastic. I do understand wanting to feel sore though. I feel like I have not workout that hard if I am not sore.
