Saving frequent foods - confused

Is there any way that I can save the foods on a list that I will often be entering. It seems like the "frequent" list saves every single food. Whenever I try to find "Apple" I have to start from square one and search through the entire list of every food imaginable that has the word "apple" in it. Am I just doing it wrong?

Or perhaps a way to search the foods that I have entered previously? Is this possible?0

Add to your "favorites" list and it will show in alphabetical order from that point on.0

I don't see favorites list only "recent" "frequent" "my foods" and "my recipes" is there another list somewhere? I can't seem to figure it out.0

And---why is the "kit kat bar" that I ate ONE TIME on my frequent list? I wish this was easier to organize0

I am so sorry....I was getting this confused with another site that I also use. On MFP to the top right of your first list there is a sort option. If you sort my "name" it will show the foods in alphabetical order, which makes them a little easier to find.0

Also when you start to enter a meal, for example: Breakfast. If you choose that meal as an option here: "Or, add your favorites for:" instead of "All Meals" it will show what you have entered for Breakfast in alphabetical order.0

Hmm okay, thanks for your help! I think I also try and delete foods that I am very likely only to eat that one time. Like a random treat or restaurant purchase.0

Glad you understood what I was trying to say!!
Play around with it to get it like YOU want it!! Good Luck!!! :flowerforyou:0 -
I wish I could delete some of the foods I entered that are duplicates or I've found a better entry. The only list you can delete food from is the "Frequent" foods, which is very inaccurate. Wait until you have four pages of entries for a meal - that's when finding a certain food is frustrating. I've started using "generic" whenever possible and picking an entry near the front of the alphabet, so I don't have to search through all four pages.
I also wish that the database listed the item, such as "steak - tenderloin" first instead of a brand name, a restaurant, and all kinds of other words. You could add these after the important first word, which describes the food. We can only hope MFP makes the database easier to use....some day.0 -

I was noticing all of these annoying points as well! I mean why when I search "apple" I have to see the whole list of things including "McDonalds, apple pie with 1/2 scoop ice cream, no caramel sauce" ... I also learned to just try for the "generic" or "fresh" things when they come up on the database.0
