OMG SO COLD!

So, Winter has come upon us once again... I really want to walk/job outside, but i can't keep my nose from running ahead of me!

Any tips on keeping my nose from running away? Stuffing tissue up my nostrils seems like it would do more harm than good lol

My nose runs...I'm constantly sniffling, but it's just clear snot after about 5 min of being outside.

I always wonder how Northerners or Canadians do it!

Mine just runs, and I'm at a loss as to anything more than Kleenex. I'm glad for it this time of year, though, because I get bad sinus block (read:headache!) when the humidity plunges. A running nose is a wonderful thing, lol.

I blow snot rockets and/or wipe it on my gloves. They get washed after every run (I have about 8 pairs).

Wipe your nose on your hoodie and wash it when you get back home lol
Maybe drink some coffee or hot cocoa right before to help for the initial start. I donno, I don't do cold weather outside lol

Not a problem with it and I live above the polar circle, but when it really gets tough (-30 degrees Celsius or lower) I just wear my scarf higher up, just below the eyes. Good exercizing tho the cold, it seems to burn more cals...

All of these suggestions are so nauseating. If I saw adults constantly wiping their noses on their sleeves, I'd want to puke. lol. Just get one of those pocket packs of tissues and keep a small Ziplock sandwich bag in a hoodie or coat pocket to put the used ones in for when you can't find a trash can.

Wrap a thin scarf over your nose so you can still breathe but it keeps the cold air off. Use tissues. And don't worry - when it gets really cold you won't have a problem with a runny nose, just a couple of icicles.

step 1) buy a bag of Hall's mentholyptus lozenges.
step 2) pop one in your mouth when your nose starts to get runny.
step 3) repeat step 2) as necessary.

well considering it's a natural reaction to being in the cold when our body temperature is up there's no cure for it. You could try getting a neck gator and covering your mouth and nose while you run, breathing through a scarf or gator helps warm the air before it enters your nasal passage which can help... but I don't think that'll get rid of it all together. My nose runs even when it's 90 degrees out while I'm running.

For me tissues are just not going to happen, my hands are sweaty which will just make them wet and rip, plus if I have gloves on dexterity to pull one or two out at a time... not gunna happen.

Runners world actually has an article... or maybe it's a video, about how to properly blow a snot rocket while running you may want to check it out. Otherwise I use my glove or sleeve and wash it when I'm done. Usually they're so sweaty by the time I'm done that wearing it a second time without washing it isn't an option anyway.

Yup......no one ever said running was pretty.....

Reminds me of the old scuba diving line......there are two kinds of divers, those who pee in their wetsuits and those who lie about it.

    Farmer's blow FTW.

That was about the first thing I learned in track. Probably during the first week of practice as a 7th grader!

Are you somewhat new to running? I used to have this problem a lot, but with time, it has diminished. I do sometimes need to carry tissues, but most of the time, it's fine now with only minor sniffling LOL.
