    Watching porn is very different from being addicted to it. An addiction replaces healthy things in one's life. A porn addiction replaces a healthy sex life with the addict favoring porn over tending to the emotional needs of their partner. A porn show never needs a conversation, or household chores, or money for bills, or any sort of partnership. A porn show is always available, is always willing, and is always as dirty as you want it to be. A real-life person cannot compete with porn with a porn addict. When the porn addict approaches the real-life person for sex, the real-life person needs more than a "here I am, do me" presentation. The real-life person tends to recoil from this after a while, and the relationship fails.

    This was 25 years ago, long before internet porn was accessible. He had 100s of porn magazines and thought that what he saw/read about was how things should be, which meant the man was the only one who got any pleasure. He called 900 numbers (like 800 numbers, but they were pay calls to recorded sex lines) and when I got the $150 phone bill, remember, this was 25 years ago and $150 phone bill was a huge deal, he lied and said he dialed the numbers by accident. The next month, we got another $150 phone bill. He said he called the numbers back to see what they were.

    I was smart, I got out after 4 years and then met the love of my life. We've been together for 23 years now.
