I am going to get a food scale and was wanting advice/opinions on which kind to get.

Which is better... to weigh food in grams or ounces?

thanks!

i have had one i got from walmart a few years ago...its their store brand of kitchen items. it weighs in grams, ounces, and pounds.

you'll definitely want grams and ounces!

Neither is better than the other. Get a scale that lets you do both, because labels list food in one or the other but rarely both.

If you're in the US, Amazon has a quality Ozeri Pro for about $16.

    This too! ^^^

Love being able to put something in a bowl....hit the "Tare" button and weigh my next addition to the bowl.

This is the one that I have and use and I love it.

It does grams and ounces (and pounds and something else) and also has the tare feature. Well worth the $25!

Most scales let you measure in both grams and ounces, and have a tare option - the ability to "zero out" the scale if you have something on it to contain food, but only want to weigh the food part (like a bowl). Those are generally base options, and honestly, that's all I've ever needed.

I recommend looking on websites like Target, Macy's or Walmart (each will have different scales in different price ranges) and find one that fits your price range and has decent reviews.

This is the scale I have, and I love it: http://www.target.com/p/taylor-digital-food-scale/-/A-11011109#prodSlot=medium_1_30&term=food+scale
