The answer to the ultimate question, to life, the universe and everything is 42.

I usually try to live by that.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

your purpose in life is that its a joke, there isn't a purpose just this idea there is one so that you spend your entirely life seeking it and never finding it, like when your parents would tell you to go hide and seek and never came to find you just to keep you quiet for as long as possible, this is your answer.

    Okay, I'll say it.

Yes, I do know what my purpose is. My purpose is to serve God by serving his children during this temporary stay on this little green and blue planet.

If you LIVE, you will have a Purpose, whether you 'Know" it or not. One can affirmatively DO certain things that may indicate a 'Purpose" and 10 yrs later choose something else. But for sure I know that a 'Livelihood' is NOT a purpose. Just Live WELL, that IS the Purpose of Life...and in that you WILL hit ALL the 'Points', whatever they may be (Health, Of Service, Money, Giving Back, Loving, Family, Spiritual Matters...).

Do NOT waste time trying to figure out 'Life's Purpose' for you. That is how a MANY Preachers, Frauds, Lecturers, Gurus...have become rich. THEY told you that You HAD to have a Life's Purpose, then they told you that THEY could lead you there...For a Price!

ETA: Pick a Job, something you like and/or good at. It's JUST a Job, not deep, because it is NOT your world or your life or who you are.

It's a funny mixed bag of people who seem to inherently know their purpose early in life and those that don't know until later in life. Then there are those that do complete 180's all the time and never seem to settle.

I know for me, I've really been trying more and more to explore what feeds my soul. I know for me, at the base will be helping others. With that general principle I've improved ever part of my life.

My absolute purpose in life is to be there for my kids. Everything I do is to provide them the best life possible, while preparing them to be self sufficient and responsible adults that can enjoy life. Some people want to be rich and worry more about their careers than they do their family. More money always helps but the way I look at it, when I am lying in bed dying years from now, will I be wishing for more time so I can work more or wishing for more time to spend with my family.

You have asked one of 3 questions from the beginning of time. How did I get here? What is my purpose? What happens when I'm gone? Just do your best each and every day as a person. That way no matter what your station in life is. Whether as a parent, teacher or garbage truck driver you will have a sense of fulfillment. We only have one life ( maybe? ) so make it interesring

Not lame at all to me.

This my sound lame but all I want out of life is to be with a man that I love and that will love me in return, surrounded by our children and grandchildren along with plenty of animals. On a side note I'd also like to keep rescuing stray and abused animals and find them loving homes :)
