How often should I be recording weight?

I'm kinda new here so sorry if this has been discussed before.
So the MFP app has a "record today's weight" option. Should I be weighing myself everyday? I understand that body weight fluctuates a bit and I have heard from some others that you should only weigh yourself every so often. I think the MFP line graph is pretty neat and I personally don't mind seeing the numbers fluctuate up and down within reason, but every time they go down and I record it, it's announced to MFP. This results in people congratulating and encouragements all around (which I welcome) but...I dunno, it kinda feels like a lie to me when I might go over that number the very next day. Or after lunch lol. How often do you guys record your weight on MFP?
Thanks!

If the fluctuations don't bother you and you're just intrigued by the data, go ahead and weigh in every day. You can turn off the notification so it doesn't come up on your news feed. From the website, go to My Home, Settings, then Automatic New Feed Settings and unclick the one that says something like "when I lose weight"
And if you want to announce a loss to your friends, you can just type it in just as you would any other status update.

I would say just whatever you comfortable with. Some obsess over scale number and weigh a lot worrying about minor fluctuations, others want to see definite results and do it once a week.
Since I'm a big guy I lose pretty quickly at times (still have fluctuations), but because I'm big I weight M/W/F. Once I get down a fair amount more, I'll lose less quickly and change my weighing routine.
I'd also suggest measuring occasionally in addition to weighing (once a month or so). I like having more data and different metrics to look at.0 -
Once per week for me. My wife insists on weighing every day though.0
