what does "bumb" mean?

i keep seeing people comment on others questions saying "bump" what does it mean?

    The topics at the top of the forum page are the ones with the most recent replies.

    To 'bump' a topic is to reply (generally without actual content) just to 'bump' it back up to the top of the page.
