Yep, rolled my ankle playing soccer last Friday. It's still purple, swollen, and painful, and has effectively sidelined me from running 3x/week and from soccer.
What's your favorite non-impact cardio/weight routine while nursing an injury?

Mine was lifting food to my mouth
. That's actually how I gained 15 lbs after a nasty ankle injury in late February.
In answer to your question, though, swimming worked best for me once I started exercising again. I think if I had injured my ankle in summer or had access to an indoor pool, things might have gone differently. This summer, I actually got a lot of my cardio endurance back by swimming, and I even had some success doing my range of motion work in the water. I saw real improvements there as well.0 -
Things I feel that you could do if you were missing a foot or two:
Sit-ups (all kinds, butterfly, bicycle, squirms)
Push-ups (on knees)
Planks (on knees)
Knee ups
If you can stand, perhaps you can do some regular air squats... or, my favorite, thrusters. :glasses:0
