Push up question.

So I know push ups primarily work the chest muscles but when I do them (on my knees :blushing: ) I feel them more in my back, shoulders & arms. My palms are positioned slightly wider than shoulder width.

What can I do to make it a more chest thing? :flowerforyou:

Try taking a wider hand position, but still aiming to pull the elbows in toward your rib cage rather than flaring the elbows outward - which is not good for the elbow or shoulder joints.

Concentrate on tensing the chest muscles as you slowly go down and try not to explode upward as you move back up but actually carry your body weight slowly back up using the tension across your chest primarily.

On your knees is a great way to start - no :blushing: there!

Like the above poster said, widen your hands a bit and you will use more chest. If you feel force from your back, try to flex your abs to use your ab rather than back. Your shoulder and arm will feel work regardless since you are using them.

Look up youtube vidz of proper form for more details.
