Went to use it yesterday for the first time in ages - display started fading in/out. Figured it needed a new battery. Today I purchased said new battery. Installed. Followed directions to start & reset it. No display. Zero. Zilch. Nada.
What gives??
ETA I can't seem to get the back to seat correctly with the battery in.

Definitely contact the company. Mine was going wonky and I needed a new chest strap. Well worth the $!0

Seems it's the battery cover after all, it's just fitting at tightly as it should be. I've already replaced a strap transmitter because I tore up the battery cover after changing out the batteries a few times. I do not want to shell out more $$ for this silly issue.0

I hear ya. I'd definitely call them and see what can be done that's within your budget. Good luck!0
