Maintaining, on an upward trend that needs to STOP!

Ok a tad of background, I was slightly overweight, never too bad. Then I found a fantastic groove in my healthy eating that became easy for me to maintain everyday and lead to TOO MUCH weight loss. I got way underweight and it caused some pretty serious health concerns. I'm now at a "healthy" weight (hormones still out of whack :noway: ) BUT my weight seems to be creeping upward slowly as I loosen my strict healthy eating habits.
So, I know for health's sake I shouldn't necessarily lose weight, but I do want to cut the CRAP I'm eating back out and stop the upward trend on the scale. I'm very well aware of not placing too much emphasis on the # on the scale, but as many of you know, when you work so hard to improve your body, its hard to watch your OLD body creep back slowly.
Anyone else have trouble "maintaining" and letting go of losing? or any pointers on ways to stay in "maintenance" without worrying about losing/gaining?
I'm taking a hiatus on my diligent gym routine (with exception of my tuesday/wednesday cycle class because it feels oh so good ) to reexamine, refocus, and center myself. Get my priorities right, healthy eating back in check, and then I'll revisit my lovely gym. PHEW! that felt good. Anyone else relate? Am I way out in left field?

It is hard to get out of the 'be careful' mindset. I haven't gone 'too low', but I am creeping slowly slowly downward and I am looking in the mirror and thinking it could happen one day. If I did drop too low, I know it would be hard to make a conscious effort to gain. Because of that, I am trying to be pretty conscious of staying within a pretty specific weight range (and not being happy when I dip below).
To stay in my zone I finish all my regular eating after dinner and look at my calories. Lately, it's been easy for me to have several hundreds of them left - even though my goal is only to net 1430. I am rarely hungry at that point, but it is nice to have tasty snacks and I choose what I want - not junk. It might be milk or some brie on a cracker. Or ice cream with nuts (love that protein). Last night I had hot chocolate and a pear with pistachios.
Bottom line - I eat my normal food, see where I am, and then consciously choose something I really WANT to eat to bring my calories up. Let's face it - it's easy to add calories. A couple of pieces of toast and orange juice is 500 calories. My goal is to really savor them and not just let them slip under the table just because I'm not 'that hungry'.0 -
