Is there any benefit in terms of toning/body composition once weight has been lost to cardio when already doing heavy lifting? Or am I just wasting my time with it and shouldn't bother on the days I'm not lifting?

Helps with body recomposition (i.e. keeping you lean) and increases your stamina, fitness, and general health.

I do both, and to me it just helps me feel much better than just lifting alone, and it works wonders in building endurance as well. You aren't wasting your time you need both.

I still do my cardio 3 days a week (and as a warmup on my strength training days). Even though I have seen more results since I started the strength training, I still see the benefit of continuing cardio.
