How are swim fins supposed to fit?

I am long time lap swimmer and water aerobics exerciser. Recently, I was advised to get some fins and do more work on my kicks for different strokes. I got them. But they are a little loose. I am looking at ordering some swim socks to fill in the gap. Just want to be sure that I am using them properly and have the maximum comfort for my workout.

How do your swim fins fit? Do you wear swim socks?

Thanks for any feedback.

Did you try the next size down? Sorry about the question, but have to ask.

My shoe size is 6 or 6 1/2 and the fins that fit me are size 5-6. I don't wear swim socks but don't wear fins any more than 30 minutes.

I actually have the next size down in my basket on Amazon. :)

Just thought I'd get some feedback first to determine whether it's even a reasonable expectation for them to fit exactly.

    On your feet.......

..but seriously, wear boots, neoprene are warmer, and they should fit fine. They aren't "fitted" as such so you have to find what's comfortable for you!

Go to a dive store for a fitting if one's near.
