My husband is in charge of the gardening and I am in charge of the canning / freezing. He has already planted potatoes, next will be the full garden. Green Peas, beans, corn, tomatoes, squash, zucchini, carrotts, cabbage - and Lord knows what else, oh yeah, the melons.
Good luck gardening,

Depending on how much room you have, zucchini are yellow (crookneck) are great, also peppers, winter squash, and cabbage. Herbs are wonderful to have at your fingertips, too!0

Wow this is what I want to do. I am not a big gardener, but my goal is to be able to can some salsa. I guess the first step is to get a recipe. Any advice or tips? Thanks, Heidi0 -

Well, in my yard ( we didn't have much room) We had a mint bush, a chive plant, one stawberry plant( In a pot) and two bean plants. I remember having a tomato plant one year(in a pot again).
I remember when i 8 years old . My grandmother visited and running to the backyard and cutting fresh mint for my grandmother to make tea every day. I also remeber going and harvestig chives whenever my mom needed them. They made good potato salad.
Tiny backyard though. Have of it taken up by a shed and the patio. The other half okay for two little dogs to run around.0 -
