Boredom Eating

Who's guilty of it and what kinds of foods do you mindless stuff yourself with? What do you do to distract yourself from those temptations?
I'm guilty of it when I can't keep busy physically. I just started a new job that requires me to do a lot of physical labor and it wasn't until starting it that I really realized how horrible of a habit I had of eating when bored. This has luckily forced me to only eat when actually hungry and to refuel my body. I only pack healthy food for lunch and snack time and I noticed my body is appreciating it. Last night was my second night off and I fell back to old habits and realized this morning how much I need to avoid bad eating/eating while bored.

My job is an 8-hr sit-down job answering the main line for a hospital. On a slow day I will FIND stuff to do, like cleaning the windows, organizing shelves, getting out of the department for an errand. Anything I can to break the habit. It's usually potato chips or candy.0

Guilty as charged!
I drink tea or chew gum instead of eating to satisfy my boredom. Sometimes I am able to talk myself out of boredom eating.
It works for me!0 -
I'm a student so this happens like ALL THE TIME. It used to happen all the time when I wasn't on a diet, at least... and might be one of the first reasons I'm overweighted for. (Plus emotional eating, you know, exams and everything). The only thing that really helps is eating well during the main meals (so that you won't feel very hungry throughout the day). When I get hungry for no reason it's usually just a bad craving. I know I cannot stuff myself so I crave it I usually think about how bad I'm going to feel afterwards and it usually works.0

Big time - snacks - chocolates, crisps, fatty sandwiches, crackers, fizzy drinks, juices...
When I had exams and was at home it was awful but now I've managed to control my stress levels I don't have that problem anymore. Also I ensure I have little access to those foods so I barely feel tempted0
