Hi all

I think I understand the up sides pretty well.

What are the down sides of the George Foreman style of countertop grills?

Are any better than the others? I'm looking for something durable and good at its job (obviously).

  • i use the foreman grill for everything! i have the small one. i even toast my bread in it lol ive made everything from chicken to burgers to eggplant on it. downside?! cleaning it! lol esp after my boyfriend uses it. because he adds tons of cheese to everything and then doesnt clean it... and the cheese gets hard and stuff..
but if u clean it right away while its kinda warm ull be good =] and make sure u clean it gently so u dont scratch it.

I had a small basic model George Foreman brand in college and HATED it. It would burn the chicken or beef before cooking through it all the way. Ugh! I was so mad I got it. So if I were to get one now, I'd want one with some sort of temp adjuster. Or maybe I had a defective one...

Also, cleaning wasn't as easy as I expected it to be. That lil comb thing got some stuff off, but I still had to go through the thing to get where it missed.

Honestly, right now I'd just get a cast iron grill pan for the stove. (Which is actually on my wish list!)
  • I got a Cuisinart grill for Christmas 2 years ago and I love it...we litterally use it daily...it is a grill, panini press, folds out to a full griddle as well!
