what do you include in body measurements?

When people say how many inches they have lost, what do they generally mean? Waist, hips, and thighs? I have lost 4" off my waist, 4" off my hips, and 3" off my thighs, so would I say I have lost 11 inches? Or just 4?
What body parts do you measure?

I break it down into body areas. I think adding it up, although it sounds impressive, isnt accurate and doesnt give enough info. I mean, you might have lost 11 inches in total, but if you look at your body in a frame, you've lost 3 inches from that frame and +1 from the waist and hips.
I personally measure the chest, waist, hips, upper arm and thighs--all the areas I want to see changes in. Some people measure the neck too but I couldnt care about that.0
