NSV: First triathlon training brick accomplished!

Today I did my first "brick" for the tri sprint I'm training for. I did 12 miles on the bike and then transitioned to a run.

My ride started off really strong. For my first split I was pacing around 18.5 mph. But on the way back my speed really dropped off because I was riding into the wind. My pace dropped below 17 mph. I was pretty tired by the time I got home, but managed to average 17 mph over the whole ride.

My transition to the run wasn't fast because I was putting my bike away at home, but all told it only took about 4 minutes. I was prepared for my legs to feel like cement, but actually I started off my run feeling great. Maybe because the ride really warmed me up fully? I'm not sure what it was, but I was expecting to have a terrible run. Instead, I ran a personal best 5K, finishing in 34:22 without having to stop for a walk-break even once!

Now I'm super psyched for the rest of my tri training and for the event itself.
