To dab or not to dab

So here's the thing, I REALLY hate oil and oily things.. Like I feel sick at just the sight of oil on food and the feeling of having oil on my food just makes me cringe!
I've always hated it and when people say that the fat and oil is the best part of their meal, I literally just want to throw up! :O
I've been dabbing oil off my greasy foods ever since I was a young kid and the other day somebody told me that it's weird.. Does anybody else dab oil off food?

I've seen people do it. I don't think it's that weird if oil isn't appetizing to you.0

I like greasy stuff but sometimes I will get a slice of pizza that is too oily and yes I have dabbed the excess off. I don't think that is weird at all. If that is what you have to do to make the food more appetizing then you go right ahead and dab.0

I'm not a fat-a-phobe, BUT, yes, I dab. If I see oil pooled on top of my pizza or can tell my fish/chicken has soaked up excess oil, I'll definitely dab. I love fat, but oil is just unappetizing to me when separated from the dish...unless, it's on a nice steak. I don't dab steaks.0

YES. It grosses me out too, especially on pizza.0

Only time I dab is if I can hold up a piece of pizza and watch the grease drip off... gross lol0

^^This. Only other time I've seen people do it was sticking french fries in a napkin and squeezing the grease off. And I thought that was a bit strange.0 -
Fat is flavor. :laugh:0

The next time you do this, weigh your napkin before and after dabbing...
...and when you see what a ridiculously small amount you are removing, then you will realize how inconsequential this is.
That said, if it makes you happy to do it, then dab away.0 -
I do.lol0

Just on pizza.0

I actually like the grease (probably part of the reason I wound up here  ), but I've seen people dab their food and never thought anything of it, their food is just too greasy for them.0

For me, it's a flavor/texture thing, not a calorie thing. If I'm eating pizza or fried fish/chicken, I'm pretty well pushing the calorie limits, anyway. That being said, I guess, I fall under the "if it makes you happy to do it, then dab away" category. *Dab, dab, dab*0 -

Yeah, it's not the calories, just the texture makes me feel ill ^_^ Glad to see I'm not the only one who likes to dab their oily food!0
