Weekend Weight Gain Warfare

Erga Burga. I am becoming increasingly frustrated lately. This seems to be what happens to me every time I try to lose weight. I lose a couple lbs, things are going well. Then I start to gain a little back on the weekend so I spend the week taking it off. By Friday, my official weigh in day, no weightloss. I end up staying a few lbs lighter than when I started, but getting nowhere. I gotta lose this weight! It has to come off! How do I not gain this weight back on the weekends!!!

If you're eating closer to maintenance on the weekends, the gain you are seeing on the scale is not true weight gain. It's just extra sodium and waste storage in your bowels.
Your choices are:
1.) Stop eat over your calories on the weekend and monitor your sodium intake (less frozen/boxed/soup)
or
2.) Stop freaking out about the scale moving from water and waste weight from eating over your calories on the weekends.
And in case I'm misunderstanding your question....
Are you logging your calories everyday? A lot of people are going to request that you make your food diary public as well.0 -
What happens on the weekend that is causing this "gain"?
Are you exercising? What's your calorie goal? If you make your diary public it would be easier to offer advice.0 -
Oh I didn't realize I had to set my diary to public, thought that was default. Thanks! Should be updated now.
I was shooting for 1400 calories a day, but I am considering going down to 1200 now.
I am not as good about logging on the weekends, when I am at work during the week, I sit at a computer all day with internet access, so it is really easy to log. When I get home, I have to get off my lazy butt and turn on the laptop. I guess I do have the app on my phone so I am just making excuses.0
