So for the last 2 yrs (yes I know)I've been on & off mfp struggling with disordered eating from starvation to overeating,so now I'm just trying to eat the right amount, exercise & not restrict or binge...
However my mind is still..pretty ****ed up.
Like therapy didnt help at all.
I'm 5'5 and was 120lbs before I got into this mess. And I keep trying to tell myself that I don't need to go lower..at my worst I was about 109lbs.(not anorexia)
I'm about 137 now because my metabolism is messed up.
What I'm really asking is,do you think that's a good weight?
I know its lame but I could use some reassurance(this time I'm losing weight the right way).
Do you think 120-125lbs is ok for my height?
Thanks x

I'm only 4'11 and 120-125 is my goal weight.... I could probably go smaller but don't think I'd enjoy it very much. I think that's about the lowest you would want to go in my opinion...

I'm 5'5" and 120-125lb is the weight range I'm maintaining, I wouldn't be comfortable going any lower. However 137lb is also a healthy weight for your height.

Well, I guess it might be said that I don't have an eating disorder and am not in recovery. I guess my answer would be that I didn't get to be 348 pounds by thinking about food in a healthy way, no matter what you call it. I have lost over 50 pounds and I'm feeling good about food and my choices. So take it for what it's worth.

There are all different body types. I am right around 5'9" and my goal is to ultimately be around 180 or so. That's what I weighed when I was fit and felt great. I'm a big girl - and when I'm fit, I will still be a big girl, but I won't be fat and unhealthy.

My point is that what's most important is not the exact number on the scale. It's that you are well.

There is no way that I could begin to choose an arbitrary number for you and suggest that it would be the ideal, healthy weight for you. And with all due respect, anyone here who says they can is mistaken. To set some healthy goals, I would really suggest that you speak to a medical professional. And if counseling didn't help, then maybe you need to take a different approach - a different counselor, a different program/clinic, etc. You don't have to be unhappy.

I wish you the very best.
