I bought it off ebay a few days ago and it is stressing me out!!
Do all HRM use V02 max as the determing factor for calories? I shouldn't have to adjust that number to make it jive with other number but that is what I have been doing. I know none are completely accurate but everyone here that has a HRM raves about it. I loved it too until I realized that calorie count was WAY off! What other brands/models test something other then V02 to get your calories burned?

I think they stream lined it with my FT7, it doesnt ask about the V02 numbers like my wifes F70

It is accurate because that Vo2 number is used in the calorie burn calculation, its only as accurate as the info you give it0 -

Well when I got it my V02 was set to 37. I didn't know what V02 was or how it impacted my calorie count so I went about my business. I walked 5 miles in about 1.5 hours averaging about 3.0mph my HRM said I burned 636 calories when everything else I read said I should have burned 380 -470. I came on here and was told that my V02 was too high and my Max HR was too low.
So I did a test Rockport test to see what my V02 was and my results were 32-33 which still seemed high when compared to everything else. I have been trying to figure it all out but without this number I am sorta just guessing. What I have had to do is take my HRM and do 10 minute walks at a good pace and then compare to what others say I should be burning and keep lowering or raising my V02 to match. It is just a lot of hassle and I still don't know the accuracy so what is the point of having it kwim? So I would rather get rid of this one and get one that isn't as much of a headache.0
