Hi I'm new here so I'm not sure if this is in the right section or not but here goes..
I'm an 18 year old guy and I've been large for as long as I remember. I think I've definitely slimmed down over the past few years but I still weigh 230 pounds, I'm 5ft 9 inches tall and were size 38 inch pants. I'm finally going to do something about it.
I've started using MFP everyday counting my calories and limiting myself to 2000 calories a day, I normally have one or two whey protein shakes a day (with water/milk) and I've started exercising every Tuesday,Friday, and Sunday.
I have it on a cycle so Tuesday I will do 25 mins cycling at a moderate resistance and speed, then 50 squats/arm curls ( both with kettle bell) and 50 push-ups. Then on a Friday I would do 25 minutes cycling at a moderate resistance and speed, then I will do a 20 minute kettle bell workout with a range of activities like 20 squats. 20 'fist pumps wIth the kettle bell etc. I have started with a 5kg kettle bell and plan to increase weight when I feel myself getting used to the 5kg.
I'm just wondering do you think this sounds like a good plan for weight loss? I'm not looking to drop a crazy amount all at once, maybe 1-3 pounds a week.

Does this sound okay? Any advice/suggestions?
Many thanks! :)

That sounds like a good start. That's good you are doing both cardio and resistance training with weights.

I would suggest trying to exercise at least 1 hour a day six days a week. Three days a week isn't ideal. Try to mix in walking or other exercises if you can. If you have access to a gym, try doing more exercises for lifting weights with different muscle groups. I wish I could go back to when I was 18. At 5-9, you probably want to get down to 170-180 pounds. Make sure to eat lots of fruits and vegetables for calories.

Are you going to a gym? Have access to a barbell? I would suggest Starting Strength or Strong Lifts 5x5 for your strength and then optional cardio of your choice. Cardio will give you more calories to eat, and help you have more endurance for whatever that cardio is. That's it. A true, progressive weight lifting routine will help you maintain muscle mass (and then gain it if you ever do a bulk). What you are doing now is more of a resistance/cardio mix which is ok, but doesn't achieve either goal very well. 50 pushups won't help you gain strength, only muscle endurance. Anything you can do more than 12 of will only do that.

I would suggest lifting 3x a week, any more and your muscles don't have time to recover, and then any cardio you want fit around that. Walking helps

As for calories, 2000 (NET?) is probably ok for your height and weight, but to make a more informed choice go through this:
