Re-starting my journey

What a corny title right? It's the kind of title I would see on another forum I used to go to. This time around though I don't want any coddling. I don't want the journey. I want the painful sweaty results this time. I need a harder push. This is the most recent of my many many attempts to lose weight and get in shape. MFP has been a great place to log food off and on for a couple years now but I have decided to try the forums this time around as well. Mainly because I notice a lot of people with serious fitness goals. Getting skinny for the sake of being skinny just isn't motivation enough for me. Sure it would be great to weigh 135 again but what I would really love is to strengthen my body. I have friends who are really fit and I want to be one of them. Running 5ks, taking 5 Zumba classes a week, plus body-pump, plus running on the treadmill, plus, plus, plus. You see where I am going. They are always doing something and while I try I always seem to find an excuse to drop out then just stop showing up. I would like some help getting motivated to stay on course with my exercise.

Great intro! I'm re-committed to logging on here as well- Did pretty good for a few months at the beginning of the year but slacked off then life went crazy! I just moved about 5500 miles from where I was and now finding myself with a lot more time on my hands so I'm back on here to try to get closer to my goal. I'm not looking to be skinny- I just want to feel good in my own skin and be fit. Even when I was over 260 I was doing 5k races (not super fast but faster than some) and trying to be more active. It is a lot easier now and I have kept off about 40-45 pounds since my heaviest about 10 years ago. Feel free to add me if you would like!0

Motivation is very fleeting. What sticks are the habits we build by doing it (exercise & eating healthy) every day for a period of time. If you are ready to commit to this - stop starting over. One day does not have to equal the end of your plan. One week doesn't either.
Someone very wise once told me, "When you are ready to lose the weight - you will." I thought they were looney tunes. Turns out that they were completely right. 19 months ago, I started again and I was ready. I do this every day. I will do this forever. There is no end goal. Just health. And health is my reward. The only one I need.
So, I say to you, "When you are ready to lose the weight, you will." Best of luck.0
