Calories vs protein sugar etc

Okay, I've been at this for 2 weeks now, and I've lost my goal of 2lbs a week... 4 lbs so far. I just want to make sure that I'm doing this the healthy way. My calories are rarely over 1300, usually about 1250 or so. & I always try to make sure I get to atleast 1200 but MFP wants me to have 1580. I can never get that much calories without going over on protein or sugar.. usually carbs are good but everything else I seem to have trouble with. I mean, I'm losing my goal of 2lbs a week, but is it healthy to eat only 1300 or so calories a day? (I do bike ride and walk plus am a server so I'm on my feet quite a bit through the day)

The MFP recommendation for protein is ridiculously low. Aim for 1 gm of protein per lb of body weight. That's probably more than you need, but unless you have an underlying medical condition better too much than not enough. As for sugar, again, short of an underlying medical condition there's no real need to track it. As long as it fits within your caloric goal and you are satisfying your macro and micro nutrients eat what you like.
  • I read a thing online medicinenet.com and it said that women usually need an average of 46g protein a day & I get around 50g. I never know what to believe online or what not to believe.

i aim for over 100g protein per day.

MFP sets you a calorie goal for a reason, there is no need to eat even less...
