Hi all.
This is my first time trying this site but I have tried a few others. I had the most success with Biggest loser club but it cost too much money to keep the membership, and it was sort of difficult to track exercise. I did manage to lose 30 pounds in 90 days when I followed the plan and it was almost easy .
II am a 38 year old mom of 5 and grandma of 1. I am a SAHM and have a small farm that I take care of too. I love to exercise, but you wouldn't believe it if you saw me. I am over 100 pounds over weight. I could blame it on 5 pregnancies,9+ surgeries, birthcontrol, depression, food addiction.....so many things, but what it comes down to is the fact that I most often just give up. I know what I need to do. I have done it before. I even made my goal weight once........What happens to the motivation and why can't I keep it up when I do start to succeed?
The last time I strarted a diet plan/exercise plan/lifestyle change was November of 2008 I weighed in at 264 and being only 5'4" I was looking pretty big. I had just been told by my doctor that I had all the usual side effects of being 100+ over and it scared me a little but more than anything it motivated me to do something about it. I decided to oreder an exercise DVD off an info mercial that was actually pretty good. IT was a series of 10 -12 min workouts and you could do 1 or all of them if you chose. I was so out of shape that I just did one at first but decided to add on one every week until I was doing 3 or 4 a day 5 days a week.
The weight really fell off at first and I was loving it. Unfortuneatly I was still having pain from my gall bladder that I had already destroyed and my Blood glucose was actually going up at first. I managed to get my blood sugar under control but the pain form the failing gall bladder was only getting worse.
After 90 days I had lost a little over 30 pounds and was feeling better than I had in years. My kids and husband were loving my new energy and outlook, I was actully felt like I was turning back some clock or something. I bought a tredmill and started training for my first 5K since that seemed like the thing to do. Well my pain started increasing and pretty soon I was avoiding eating because it hurt too bad. Yes, you can believe what you read about over training and under eating. You will plateau real fast if you fall into that. My weightloss came to a halt and I just could not break the 220 mark. It bacame frustrating but not as much as the now constant pain I was having. By April 2009 I was frequenting the ER for the pain and finally my doctor said it had to come out.......
SO that was pretty much the end of my diet campaign. I haven't found the same motivation since. To top it off now I have gained back 27=/-? pounds. I sort of have the Type 2 under controll but I am sure that won't be long. I feel like this is my last resort. I have to do this NOW. Sorry for the book. I felt I needed to say this.
