Airplane food (Emirates?) and how to stay on track

So, I've taken heaps of international flights before, and I've always eaten more than I can imagine! This is my first time flying when I'm watching my weight(flying to India from Cali to get married!!!!)
So, a couple of questions.

what are some good options to stick to on the flight ? I'm a vegetarian. I usually get an Indian vegetarian meal, but omg, it has a ton of calories!!!!! I'm flying emirates and here are the list of options

I'm inclined to take the raw food plate -- but Im just scared that its gonna be random cut up veggies with no flavor :/ or the vegan plate (again a little scared that it'll be awful)

Do you guys have any suggestions ??

Last time I flew, I just declined the meal and used meal replacement bars and snacks so I could keep track of the calories. It's not ideal, but hey, it's only 24 hours at most.

That's a good idea thanks, think I will take some bars with me on next flight to UK. Airline food has really gone downhill over last few years, mostly based on cheap carbs like pasta and pizza on last few flights.

I would also worry about there not being a lot of flavor, personally. I'd do one of two things. Either bring some things to eat like mentioned above ^ or take some seasonings with you. Stick some of your favorites into some small baggies and stick them in your purse, or ask for salt/pepper packets. They could help a lot :)

I'd just take replacement bars with me. Last few time I had meals on flights they've been either disgusting/or stale!

Its a couple of meals - it's supposed to be a lifestyle - eat until you are not hungry anymore and that's it...It will not ruin your weight - 24 hours can't.....
