Oil less fryers

Hi I guess sunday I was having one of those days where I was just craving a piece of fried chicken, I did not give in though because I knew one pc would become 3 pieces!! So instead I bought a air fryer/oil less fryer, I havent received it yet, but like all impulse buys I read the reviews after and it seems mixed. I was wondering if anyone on MFP has one and how has their experience been with it. I am primarily interested in doing "fried" fish and chicken in it. All feedback will be appreciated.

Kind of an oxymoron isn't it. You could just bake your chicken, it works, and it tastes fine. Personally if I want fried chicken, that is what I want, but I must admit i might do that a couple of times a year. There's nothing inherently bad about fried chicken, if you account for the calories. Sunday morning I breaded some pickerel in panko and shallow fried them.........worth every calorie and I'll do it again in a few months I'm sure.

Oxymoron indeed, I am thinking I may just return it... I do get crunchy fish in the oven with a little panko, and I only crave fried chicken like 4-6 times a year... and maybe the oil less fryer will just end up tasting like baked!!! and I have a perfectly working oven and a countertop oven as well. I am a bit of a gadget junkie!!.. And you are right calories be damned that bite of deep fried anything is definitely worth it!!
