Protein advice - chicken alternative
Since I started dieting I have been eating a ton of chicken. I love chicken so I am ok with it but I am looking for some variety in my proteins. I do a tuna sandwich, pb&j or some hard boiled egg here and there but I really need a more diverse menu to sustain this and not gain my weight back. Red meat is a little expensive and I don't really have many lunch ideas with it, same with fish. I've tried a few things with ground turkey but I'm never thrilled with the taste (I think I just need some better recipes).
Anyone have some good alternatives that I can mix in to my diet?

Well, this has been covered several times but I can tell you what I do. Cottage cheese is a good one since it's flavor is somewhat neutral so it can be eaten plain, flavored, or with other things. Turkey breast is pretty darn great! Pork as in pork loin or chops is fantastic and let us not forget thin sliced bacon! Last but not least, Greek yogurt. Also fairly neutral and can be used in anything from a smoothie to a dip or just with some cereal and fresh fruit. Now if you want to go the supplement route, you could always go with protein powder added to a smoothie. OH! And quinoa is a good one, too. That's all I got. LOL0

Have you tried Quorn? You will find it in the frozen section of the "Health Foods" in your grocery.0 -
Yes, no doubt this has been gone over on a board like this many times. Just like recipes and calories burned and just about anything else. Thanks for your reply anyway!0

I didn't mean that rudely, I just meant that if you were new, you could search it but those were the things I used.0 -
