Recently I was told I should be taking a Vitamin D supplement. Talking with some people at work and they take a lot more supplements. I know I was Vit D deficient, so what else does everybody take and why???

  • You do not need to take the suplements, all you need is 10 mins out in the sun without sunscreen, you will get enough VIT D on your face from that time

I take a multivitamin with iron and calcium. Both of those things are really important for women and calcium will help prevent osteoporosis. I am lactose intollerant so without the supliment, I am lacking most days. I also just found that the multivitamin made me feel better since there are always vitamins I don't get through normal foods in a day.

    I take Centrum for women.
  • Hello! I actually take quite a few supplements. I have worked for a homeopathic doctors' office and many of the treatments involved taking vitamins along with dietary changes. Low levels of vitamin D are common and the effects can be far reaching. Having a deficiency can cause feelings of irritability, depression, and fatigue along with headaches and 'brain fog'. I take 5,000 mg of D, 2,000mg of Vitamin C, to boost energy and immune system, Omega 3 fish oils are very important for heart health, also great for your skin, and incredibly also helps to reduce pain with periods. I also take Quercitan to reduce inflammation and allergies, Vitamin B plus folic acid to boost energy and also an iron supplement. There are others I take when I am feeling that I may be getting sick: A and D, Echinacea, Zinc and increase the C. I know it seems like a lot but I definitely notice the difference since taking them (about 8 months now), I have not even gotten a small cold and energy levels are up. Hope this helps!
