Insanity worked BEST for me, lost 13lbs with it, I have to lose 20lbs to begin with so I'm more than half way! Starting with Insanity has been a very positive experience for me.

The basic MFP program helped me change my whole life. It took a year and a day to reach my goal weight. Now I'm working on fitness. I plan to keep counting my calories forever. I learned years ago that when you lose weight and go back to your old way of living, you get your old results. Good luck.0

Exercise for fitness, calorie deficit for weight loss. You can't out exercise a bad diet. Don't count on any fitness program to provide you with weight loss unless you put the diet with it. Not knocking an exercise program, you can greatly improve your muscles and cardio strength but it's not a miracle cure for weight loss.0

Work through the soreness it will be gone after the workout. BUT if the knee is the one hurting you better stop for a day or two0

soreness will come with any new activity but this is where I will recommend protein right after. Many people usually eat too much protein as we try to get it in. However, within an hour after Insanity try refueling with a protein shake - just milk and protein powder. Or something like Recoverite. When I upped my mileage for running and went from 40 mile weeks to 60 mile weeks with 2 hard workouts a week I was NEVER sore if I refueled right after. I'm not a huge protein pusher, either.
It probably won't prevent it but it might make it easier.
And listen to your body I've never done Insanity but have done other programs. If you need to rearrange your rest days, go ahead.0 -

I've lost 38 lbs in 21 weeks. Diet has been my key to success. I weigh and measure my food and make sure I'm hitting my macros for jurtients to fuel my body. I'm at 1600 a day working out 3 days a week. I weightlift and do random cardio (walking, just dance 2014). I'm 7 lbs away from goal.0
