ER visit turns into NSV

So, Monday I had to go to the ER for chest pain (really really bad!!) that I had been experiencing all weekend. I was 99.9% sure it was from esophageal spasms (family history), but you say chest pain to your primary care doc's receptionist and they tell you ER. So, I made my way to the ER that afternoon. Now, I *knew* what was about to happen, but it still made me laugh. As soon as the woman at registration pushed the button and said "I have a chest pain up here"...the circus began.
Thankfully, we have excellent healthcare facilities in the area I live. They really got right down to it. Including scolding me right away for not coming in on Friday. (I was too busy!)
So I'm interviewed by the doc-in-training and the supervising doc and I told them that the pain started Fri morning, but subsided by lunch so I went on my 4 mile lunch run. But after lunch, the pain returned. Blah blah blah/....with the rest of the weekend details.
They came back in after my chest xray and the practice doc said, "Well, you were right. It's esophageal spasms. The only other abnormality we saw was that you have a *VERY* low heart rate. But since you're obviously very fit, and you mentioned you run, we figure that's the reason for you low heart rate. You are in excellent shape."
Woot woot!! NSV!!!
Oh...and I got some muscle relaxants to try to calm the spasms down so I can sleep and I'm seeing the primary care doc tomorrow. I'm sure I have a GI specialist in my future, but for now I'm still gloating with my "Low heart rate"!! :-)
