How long did it take for you to get your diet in check?

I am having trouble remaining dedicated to healthy eating. I keep 'binging' on junk food. For instance, I just attended a meeting for class and they had cookies/cake. I ate TOO much. I know I don't need it, just a bad habit that I WILL BREAK!
Just looking for encouragement/other words of advice. How long did it take you to finally get "comfortable" with your new, healthier eating habits? If that makes sense.

It took 10 years of depriving myself, binging and yoyo dieting, but then I joined MFP and discovered there really is no such thing as 'junk' food and learned that some foods are just more nutrient dense than others. Then I was able to successfully incorporate all the foods I love (in moderation) into a healthy and sustainable eating plan and still lose weight. In fact, I have lost 123lbs in 15 months with this method.
