I just started working out Tuesday. I have been wanting to lose weight for a long time, but I have put it off every time. I used to be thin and looking back now I realize that I really looked good, but even then I didn't think so. But I would LOVE to be back at that weight again. And that is my goal eventually. But for now I want to lose 50 pounds and after that I will go from there depending on how I look and feel. That's a lot of weight and it will take time and it's so overwhelming! I'm going on a cruise at the end of May. beginning of June, 2014. I would really like to be comfortable to wear a swimsuit there. I just need to get this weight off. Not only to look great, but to feel great and be healthy!

You can do it. Just don't get too impatient and undereat. This can lead to muscle loss and loose saggy skin. Follow the MFP plan and you should be fine. And don't get discouraged when you have a bad day and overeat. It's probably going to happen every now and then. Just shake it off and get right back on track. Nobody gets fat from one bad day.

Eat less and move more. Log the exercise and stay within your goals. Best of luck to you.

It is "a lot of weight", but that's why most of us are here :-D. I started with needing to loose 95, you are in great company. Take it a day at a time and like bcattoes said, don't be impatient, this stuff does take time, it did not get gained overnight so it will not come off over night. Set yourself some short and long term goals and keep your determination to reach them. It can be a slow process at times but it is so very much worth it in the long run, I am down 50lbs and feel better than I have in years!

All the best in reaching your goals!!
