I joined a gym finally. Even with the walking I've done, there is really no comparison. I just about died doing 7 minutes on an eliptical bicycle, LOLLLLLLLL! There is a swimming pool there and I am most excited about that. I will be working mostly upper body and trying to keep the weight off my knee I hurt a year or so ago. I am going really easy on my arms though as well. I have some sort of arthritis or aching of some kind goin on in especially my right arm. After another month I will have insurance and can get a good "overhaul" on my bod.
Hope to keep in closer touch with MFP and see what dif the gym will make in my health. My hours are good for working out since I don't go to work til 1 pm. I can go in a.m.'s (my fave times)and swim, etc. Have a great day all!! By the way, I was pretty impressed with all the older folks at the gym, it was packed. I'm 57 and there were mostly men and women up in their 60's, 70's and 80's. My fave was a gal 87! So lets not let our ages tell us we can't build our bodies better;) Denise

Ican sympathise with your knee and arm problems. I am 59 and already had 1 total knee replacement. Water exercises will be great for you. And welcome to this site.0

Silly me - I welcomed you and I see you have lots of experience on this site. Glad you shared.0

I don't have that much experience and I thank you for welcoming since it is "one day at a time" and we are both here today;) Yes, I am looking forward to my swim today:) I hope your knee continues to recover. I know I have to "listen" to my whole "old" body or I will be hurting something so I am very careful, LOL!! hugs, Denise;)0
