WOE AND BEHOLD

I've been slacking off for awhile. Weight has gone right back up to where it was when I joined and initially lost 30lbs. >.< *SOB SOB WHINE WHINE*

I decided today to get back on the freaking wagon...

I figured entering my current food intake for the day would be brutal but I didn't realize how brutal. It's 12:45PM where I am. My current stats are as follows;

222g of carbs, 30g of protein, 61g of fat, 26g of calcium, 155g of sugar and 1543 calories

>.<

Oh me. Such bad food choices. NO WONDER I'M FAT!

Right. *dusts self off* Having a banana for supper and then tomorrow I will just make better food choices.

*whimper*

Really.

But I love carbs and...

NO. I can do this..

but... carbs...

sugar...

*CRIE*

Here at Myfitnesspal we understand that ugliness and fatness are genetic disorders, like baldness or necrophilia, and it's your fault if you don't hate yourself enough to do something about it.

    I am so confused.

So I'm fat and ugly because of genetics... which is something that can't be changed... but if I hate myself enough I can do something to be less ugly and fat... except if it's genetically caused I can't actually do anything about it?

So what you're REALLY saying is... I should have more chocolate? Right?

Of course you'll still be yourself in a legal sense, but think of it as a thinner, more attractive you than you could ever become without us. And with our competitively priced on-site cosmetic surgery, we can turn that Frankenstein you see in the mirror every morning, into a Franken Fine!

I lost about 20 pounds and luckily kept most of it off but at a doctors visit found out I may have to take cholesterol medication and my thyroid medication would probably need to increase at my next visit. I came back to MFP and have lost an additional 16 pounds but more importantly am not on cholesterol medication and have not had to increase my thyroid medication. There is much more at stake than just the numbers.

You need to put yourself off chocolate by tainting it and eating a whole tray... Then being violently sick for days.

    That'll do it.

    1) do not set your goals too high ( aka losing 2 or more pounds a week) the reason: If you start at 1200 calories expecting to loose 2 pounds a week consistently you are giving yourself no were to go. To keep losing weight at a consistent rate you will need to keep either lowering your calories or burn more calories. At a certain point this can cause plateaus that are hard to recover from. These will ultimately slow down your progress.

    2) there is no such thing as a demon food. No you shouldn't live off cookies and cake, but if you eat a cookie or cake don't have a cow. You want to keep off the weight right? Can you really see yourself never eating the food you love ever again? Instead learn to portion and eat with control. Enjoy the food it is there to be eaten :)

    3) Buy a food scale as soon as possible. They are not too expensive ( mine was 16 bucks). The reason the number one reason most people have trouble losing weight on this site is they do not accurately log their food. Measure it and be diligent! Every taste, nibble, sample. Don't be ashamed even if you go over log it!

    4) Don't get hung up on the scale. It will go up and down daily if you weigh constantly you can get very discouraged by the "lack" of progress. Weight is not the only indication of success! Measure, take photos, or even set milestones for yourself.

    5) Move your butt. I know it sucks and at first it can be very daunting. But if you find yourself having a hard time with this start small. 10 mins a day can build to great things. Besides that was 10 mins you were not going to be using anyways right? Could be in-between commercials to just running up the stairs to work rather than using the elevator. You have to create your own time sometimes.

    6) forgive yourself. You will mess up. You will make mistakes. You will go over and you will fall down. You have to learn to get back up and keep going.

I have made every single one of these mistakes int the 470 days I have been on this site. I hope that I have saved you some heartache and maybe helped you get there a bit faster than I will. flowerforyou
