Hi you HITTers! I am new to this method of working out and could use some specifics. What would you suggest as a target heart rate during the sprints? Currently I am at about 90% of my max HR based on age. I drop to about 75 to 80% in between. This is using a Polar monitor with chest strap. 40 seconds all out, 80 seconds lower difficulty. Am I heading in the right direction? I am a numbers person and feel more comfortable with that rather than perceived exertion. Thanks

Don't even think about heart rate with HIIT. You go as hard as you possibly can, for as long as you possibly can, AND THAT IS IT. It's simple and wonderful and painful and effective.
All there is is 100%.0 -
