Not losing weight.

I have suddenly stopped losing weight and have been the exact same weight for over a week.

I used to eat 600, sometimes even less calories a day,
But then I thought what the hell am I doing to myself so am currently increasing,
At the moment I am reaching around 1000 calories a day, which is still a deficit of like 1000.

I walk or go for a small jog most days (atleast 3 times a week.)

I don't expect to lose like I used to (lost 20kg in 4 months) but I am just wondering what else I can do to attempt to lose weight?
I don't want to hardcore exercise, I have extreme fatigue most days so it's sometimes just hard to get out of bed!

I would love to lose another 5kgs, even if it takes me a few months to do it.

Should I just keep on trying to increase and see what happens?

Thank you

A week isn't long enough to call it a stall.

Are you weighing your food by the gram and logging diligently?

Being that you have fatigue issues, I would recommend increasing your intake.

Only 5 kgs left to lose? Why are you starving yourself?? I'm not surprised that you have extreme fatigue - your body has no fuel. Eat.

One week without a loss is nothing to worry about. It is well within the normal fluctuations you're going to see, especially if you've just recently increased your calories.

When you eat at a deficit, your body goes after your quick energy stores first. It depletes your glycogen stores. Because glycogen bonds to water, this is what cases a large water weight loss in the first weeks of dieting. When you start to increase your calories again then your body replenishes this glycogen, and stores water along the way. This is natural and supposed to happen.

1200 calories is the bare minimum recommend for sedentary women. If you're not under the care of a doctor, you probably want to increase your calories even a little more (assuming you're logging accurately, of course). You only have a little weight to lose, so a 1000 calorie deficit is probably too aggressive for you.

Just looked at your diary. I also recommend eating actual food instead of the stuff you have been consuming.

Good catch. Protein and fat look pretty deficient. These are important nutrients that not only help you feel fuller and more satiated longer, but will help with energy levels, muscle retention, hormone balance, cell health, etc. MFP sets their protein goal pretty low, so think of it as a minimum rather than a maximum.

I have no idea how you're functioning, let alone exercising on so little food. Yikes. Try gradually increasing your intake until you're at 250-500 calorie deficit. Forget about your weight loss for right now, that is so the least of your problems.

Congrats on your weight loss, but I did not know that anyone could survive on 600 cal/day. Even when I was juice fasting, I did not go under 1200 in fear of putting my body into starvation mode. With you having extreme fatigue, it sounds like you are not eating enough in general, or are not eating enough of certain things. Healthy weight loss is not supposed to do this to you. I consume 1200 cal/day. But if I do cardio or strength train, I eat more (around 1600) to feed my muscles. I fear your damaging your body. Eat more and do add in weights. Just my opinion.

Why were you starving yourself? How long were you starving yourself? Your body will need time to adjust to higher calorie intake. Gradually increase calories to your TDEE and then stay at that level for 8 weeks. Then after that take a reasonable deficit for weight loss.

I couldn't get out of bed if I ate as little as you do either.

Thanks everyone for your help :)

I started losing weight mid July so I suppose thats when I started doing what I did.
I'm not sure why it happened, pretty much everyone says that I acted anorexic..

I have been trying to have protein shakes or bars every day.

I have a problem with my liver which causes me to get tired.

Ok so I will just keep on increasing. :o)

You may want to get the advice of a dietitian if you have a health issue, to make sure you are getting the proper nutrients for your condition.

Have you spoken with your doctor about your diet? With a medical condition it can be even more important to make sure that you're dieting in a healthy manner for your body. I'd have for your calorie levels to exacerbate your problems!
